AHA (American Heart Association) Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

Location: Kapoor Hall on the UB south campus, UB School of Pharmacy
The purpose of this course is to teach those with a duty to act the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies. It includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest.
Class includes performing a primary assessment on adults, children and infants, being able to give ventilations to adults, children and infants, giving ventilations using a BVM, CPR for adults, children, and infants, and conscious choking for adults, children and infants.

Location: Williamsville North HS, 2nd floor library
This course includes CPR for adult/child and infant with instruction in the use of an AED. It includes how to respond to first aid emergencies. It will teach participants to recognize and respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. It also includes how to respond to injuries to muscles, bones and joints.
