    This comprehensive course is designed for the healthcare professional whose daily occupation demands proficiency in the knowledge and skills of the Pediatric Life Support. The course consists of lectures, case studies and performance evaluation. At the conclusion of the course, the student will be able to state the assessment criteria for the infant/child at risk of cardiopulmonary arrest and identify the signals and actions for the prevention of critical pediatrics. In addition, students will be able to demonstrate assessment and performance skills in PALS, including shock/respiratory failure, airway management, dysrhythmia recognition, infant and child resuscitation and vascular access. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive an American Heart Association PALS provider card that is valid for two years.
